NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University senior forward
Du'Vaughn Maxwell was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
It is his third such honor this season.
Maxwell (Manhattan, N.Y.) averaged 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals in a pair of games for the Pirates this past week. He had 12 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals against Morgan State this past Monday, and he had nine rebounds and two blocks in Saturday's 80-71 win at Savannah State.
He also averaged 20.5 points and shot a combined 46.0 percent from the floor in those two games.
Adama Adams of South Carolina State was named MEAC Player of the Week, while James Daniel of Howard was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.
