NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University junior
Jailynn Jackson was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Jackson (Virginia Beach, Va.) picked up two wins this past weekend as the Lady Pirates (12-12, 3-0 MEAC) opened conference play with a three-game sweep of Morgan State. In 12 innings pitched, she faced 48 batters and gave up just seven hits.
She struck out four batters over the weekend, recording an ERA of 0.58.
Norfolk State's Robyn Mitchell was named MEAC Player of the Week, while her teammate Kayla McNair was named Rookie of the Week.
