SOPOT, Poland – Three Hampton University alumni and two current members of the track & field program's coaching staff will be competing in the 2014 World Indoor Track & Field Championships this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Francena McCorory, who won three NCAA titles at Hampton and is an Olympic gold medalist, will be competing this weekend in the 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay.
Former Lady Pirate
Yvette Lewis, who won two NCAA titles during her collegiate career and is currently an assistant coach at her alma mater, will be competing in the 60-meter hurdles, along with former Lady Pirate Lavonne Idlette.
Lewis will represent Panama, while Idlette will represent the Dominican Republic.
Current volunteer assistant coach Dominic Berger will join McCorory on Team USA, and he will compete in the 60-meter hurdles.
