HAMPTON GRAD OLA FEATURED IN DETROIT FREE PRESS

HAMPTON, Va. – Former Hampton University football standout Michael Ola, whose professional journey has taken him from the Arena Football League to the CFL and all the way to the NFL's Detroit Lions, was recently featured in the Detroit Free Press.

Read Dave Birkett's article here.

Ola was a four-year offensive lineman for the Pirates out of Riverdale (Ga.) High, playing in 38 career games. In 2009, he was a major factor in an offensive line that helped LaMarcus Coker rush for over 1,000 yards – the first back to do that since 2006.

He was a 2011 graduate of Hampton, and after going undrafted he played for the Virginia Destroyers of the now-defunct UFL.

From there, his journey took him across three professional leagues before landing in the NFL.
