HARRISONBURG, VA. – The Hampton University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Eastern Mennonite University on a rain-drenched EMU Turf Field Saturday.
The Royals scored at the 29:53 mark of the first half as Amanda Williams found Mary Deskins in front of the goal for the early 1-0 lead.  In the second, Laura Rittenhouse put in the second goal at the 57:31 mark for the eventual 2-0 final.
EMU outshout Hampton 12-9 and held a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. Â
Maya Andrews stopped three shots in goal for Hampton (2-5-1) and
Khasya Cunningham had both shots on goal for the Lady Pirates.
Hampton returns to the home field of the HU Soccer Complex on Sunday, October 16 when they host the Delaware State Hornets in a 2pm kick.
