HAMPTON, VA. – The Hampton University women's soccer team started a season-ending three-game homestand on Sunday afternoon and fell 6-1 to Delaware State at the Hampton University Soccer Complex.
Alexa Gibbs scored twice in a five-minute span of the first half as the Hornets swarmed out to a 5-0 advantage.  Hampton scored six minutes into the second half when off a corner kick
Sydney Jackson found herself at the front edge of the goal and put in the rebound for the first goal by a Lady Pirate at the HU Soccer Complex. For the game, the Hornets held a 27-4 shots advantage.
Hampton will return to action on Friday afternoon at 1 pm when they host The Citadel at the Hampton University Soccer Complex. The final game of the season will be next Sunday, October 23, when they host South Carolina State at 2 pm.
