The Pirate Leadership Society, established in 2023, is the Hampton Athletics Foundation's premier philanthropic giving society, recognizing visionary donors whose leadership-level investments are transforming the future of Hampton University Athletics.

Members of the Pirate Leadership Society represent an elite community of alumni, friends, and supporters whose generosity provides critical resources to elevate the experience of more than 350 student-athletes across Hampton's 17 varsity sports. Their investments strengthen the Hampton Athletics Foundation, advance strategic priorities, and position Hampton University Athletics for sustained competitive excellence while preparing the next generation of Pirate leaders.
Pirate Leadership Society members have the opportunity to direct their philanthropic investment toward the areas that align most closely with their passions and priorities. Funding opportunities include:

Athletics Impact Fund: Provides unrestricted support to address the Athletics Department's greatest needs and highest priorities.

Athletics Scholarship Fund: Expands scholarship opportunities and helps recruit, retain, and develop exceptional student-athletes.

Athletics Director's Strategic Initiatives Fund: Supports innovative projects, emerging opportunities, and strategic priorities identified by the Director of Athletics.

Capital Projects: Invests in transformational athletics facilities, venue enhancements, and infrastructure improvements that provide championship-caliber environments for Hampton's student-athletes, coaches, and fans while ensuring the long-term success and growth of Hampton University Athletics.

Pirate LeadHERS Fund: Champions the advancement of women's athletics by investing in resources, leadership opportunities, and competitive excellence for Hampton's female student-athletes

Sport-Specific Excellence Funds: Allows donors to invest directly in the program(s) of their choice, providing resources that enhance competitive success, student-athlete development, recruiting, equipment, and team operations.
Membership in the Pirate Leadership Society recognizes cumulative philanthropic commitments of $25,000 or more over a five-year period, demonstrating a lasting commitment to the success, sustainability, and future of Hampton University Athletics.
