WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –Six top six finishes for the Hampton University men's track team over the weekend helped them tie for 30
th in the Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary.
Trey Clark topped the group with a second place finish in the Pole Vault University Division with a leap of 4.40 meters (14-5.25).
In the Discus – University Division,
Michael Crockett took third with a toss of 44.4 meters (145-8), while
Desmond Lindsey was fifth in the High Jump – University Division with a leap of 1.89 meters (6-2.25) and
Isaac Arriola took sixth in the Long Jump – University Division with a 6.2 meter leap (20-4.25).
The relay teams had good showings as well as the 4x100 team of
Charles Graham,
Joshua Hagins,
Trey Clark and
Isaiah Norris ran 42.68 to take sixth. The 4x400 quartet of
Jaelen Williams,
Justin Beatty,
Rayon Black and
Stanley Davis finished third in 3:13.22 to qualify for the ECAC meet in May and was a season best. A second quartet took eighth for Hampton as
Dominick Patterson,
Khalil Gary,
Tayvon Burris and
Geoffrey McCullough ran 3:17.51 to also qualify for the ECAC meet.
The Pirates will next compete in the Liberty Collegiate Invitational April 7-8 in Lynchburg.
