IN BRIEF: The Hampton University men's golf team finished third in the Maryland Eastern Shore Collegiate Golf Challenge on Wednesday at the Ocean City Golf Club. Hampton shot 297-310-298 to finish third with a 905 total. Alabama State won the event with an 888 total, while North Carolina A&T took second with an 897.

ON THE COURSE
- Everett Whiten was the low man for Hampton taking third overall after rounds of 74-75-71 for a 220 total.
- Arriek Douglas finished in a tie for fourth place after carding rounds of 72-76-74 for a 222 total.
- Jordan Samuels was next coming in 11th place with rounds of 74-79-77 for a 230.
- Jairus Gaines was alone in 12th place after a 234 total with rounds of 77-80-77
- Mateo Mnranares took 13th in his first event of the year with rounds of 78-81-76 for a 235 total.
