DURHAM, NC – The Hampton University men's tennis team finished its regular season on Sunday dropping a 5-2 non-conference matchup at North Carolina Central.
In doubles, Hampton got the team point winning at lines one and three.
Fedor Shirin and
Peter Odegbami won 6-4 at line one and the tandem of
Fernando Fernandes and
Charles Hudson won 7-5 at line three.
In singles,
Matthew Foster-Estwick won his match at line one in three sets 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3. Shirin dropped a three-set match at line six falling in the super tie-breaker 11-9 in the third set.
Hampton now will see action in the opening round of the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament at Old Dominion on Thursday when they face Florida A&M at 4 pm.
