NORFOLK, Va. —The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced the 2018 Tennis All-Academic Selections, honoring 96 student-athletes from the conference's 13 institutions who achieved academic success during the spring 2017 and fall 2017 semesters. Hampton had the most selections out of the conference with 13.

The team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

"I would like to felicitate our men's and women's tennis student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during this academic school year," said Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas. "In addition to recognizing the student-athletes' achievements, I also commend the academic support staffs, coaches and parents for their support in the success of these student-athletes, both on the court and in the classroom."

Both tennis teams open MEAC Championship action on Thursday with the women facing North Carolina A&T at 8:30 am, while the men face Florida A&M at 4pm. The tournament will be held at Old Dominion University Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
