GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman outscored Hampton 28-14 in the fourth quarter to rally and defeat the Lady Pirates 70-65 on Monday night.
Hampton held a 51-42 lead after three quarters but saw the hosts hit 8-of-9 from the field in the final 10 minutes and go 9-of-11 from the foul line to pull away for the win. The Lady Pirates held at 12-point lead in the third quarter on a
Laren VanArsdale 3-pointer to lead 49-37 with 2:16 left.
VanArsdale topped Hampton with 21 points and six assists, while
Ashley Bates added 14 points, six rebounds and three steals and
Charlisa Jenkins had 13 points and seven rebounds.
Nylah Young had a season high 10 rebounds to lead Hampton on the boards.
The Lady Pirates return to action on December 7 when they host Norfolk State at 4 pm.
