ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Hampton University women's tennis team fell 7-0 on Saturday afternoon to University of North Carolina Asheville in a Big South Conference matchup.
In doubles,
Kiah Turner and
Cherise Slocombe won line one 6-3. The Pirates dropped at line two and three by scores of 6-2, 6-0 as the Bulldogs took the team point.
In singles,
Yulia Kapitanova lost in three sets at line one 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, while Slocombe lost in a third set at line two 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) to lead the Lady Pirates.
The women are now headed to Spartanburg S.C. as they take on USC-Upstate April 7 at 2 pm.
