GREENVILLE, N.C. – The host East Carolina Pirates took the doubles point before sweeping the six singles matches as they defeated Hampton 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
In doubles, the Hampton Pirates pushed lines one and two losing 6-4 sets with
Matthew Foster-Estwick and
Cliff Dwyer at line one and the tandem of Davy VanGeerke and
Fernando Fernandes at line two.
Foster-Estwick pushed Agustin Tamagnone at line two singles losing a three-set tiebreaker winning the first set 7-6 (7-5), then losing a second set tiebreaker 7-4 and the third set super breaker 10-5.
Hampton is now off until February 21 when they start a Big South weekend visiting Winthrop.
