CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Big South Conference announced its Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic team on Thursday and Niyah Carpenter was recognized by the league office on the team.
 
Carpenter (3.78 – Sociology) is a Chi Alpha Sigma inductee, and set career bests in the high jump, shot put and long jump while competing in the pentathlon earlier this year at the Big South Indoor Track & Field Championship.
 
The Big South Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team consists of one student-athlete from each institution that meets the criteria of having completed at least one academic year at the institution, maintains at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average and is of sophomore standing (academically and athletically).  This year's team combined for a 3.88 GPA.
