HAMPTON, Va. – A pair of Hampton men's basketball standouts were recognized by HoopHD.com last week in its 2020 awards recognizing the top players in the first half of the 2020-21 season.
Davion Warren was named the Big South Player of the Year So Far, while
Edward Oliver-Hampton joined him on the All Conference squad of 2020.
In the last two games against Gardner-Webb, Warren averaged 27 points per game while hitting 54% from the field, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. His 31-point outing in game one is the most points scored by a Big South player this season. Warren leads the Big South in scoring (19.7), scoring in conference games (24.5), and steals (2.3), while sixth in rebounding (6.2).
Oliver-Hampton has had three double-doubles in his seven games with career highs of 21 points at Norfolk State and 13 rebounds at Charleston Southern. He is averaging 10 points and tied for the league lead with 7.7 rebounds per game.
