FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES START OF 2021 SIGNING CLASS

HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton University head football coach Robert Prunty announced the start of a 2021 signing class on Wednesday with three defensive linemen joining the Pirates in the fall.

"Today, on the first day of the February signing period, we added three important pieces to our Defensive Line," Prunty said.  "Our recruiting class is far from being complete. We will continue to add pieces to this class as we monitor high school and junior college spring ball."

Oluwaseun Adewumi, DL, 6-5, 275, Raleigh, N.C./Rolesville H.S.
PRUNTY ON ADEWUMI: Olu, or the Nigerian Nightmare is a long and athletic defensive lineman. He previously committed to Army before deciding to attend Hampton. We are excited about the length, speed and athleticism that he adds to our defensive line. He brings it every play and is very effective in the run game. That's where he separates himself, he is a complete player. Olu was also named to the North Carolina/South Carolina Shrine Bowl roster.

Makhi Armstrong, DL, 6-3, 335, West Helena, AR/Central HS
PRUNTY ON ARMSTRONG: Makhi is an unbelievable athlete not just for his size but for any size. He is also a very good technician and knows how to use his hands so he's hard to block. Makhi is so disruptive with his quickness and power. He is really hard to move and he plays with great leverage. He is so powerful he can disrupt the inside of the pocket on passing downs in addition to being a physical presence against the run.

D'Andre Satchell, DL, 6-6, 290, Rockville Center, NY/Monroe College (South Side HS)
PRUNTY ON SATCHELL: D'Andre's combination of size and athleticism makes him a difficult matchup because he can win with strength or he can win with athleticism. When you watch him you don't realize he is that big until you see him. He is so athletic and he is quick as a cat. We will be able to play him in multiple ways effectively. D'Andre plays with great instinct and is a very cerebral player.
