Washington, DC-Â Hampton Softball dropped a doubleheader at George Washington Wednesday afternoon.
Game 1: Hampton 0 - George Washington 4
How It Happened:
- Lange's fly to center field allowed Dwyer to score in the fifth, giving the Colonials the lead over the pirates. (1-0)
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, Eslick followed suit with a double to the left-center behind parker, adding another run to the board. (2-0)
- With all bases loaded, the Colonials extended their lead with a pair of runs in the sixth off a single to center field by Dwyer, allowing both Greco and Eslick to score. (4-0)
Game 2: Hampton 2 - George Washington 4
How It Happened:
- Lange put the Colonials on the board first with a solo run capitalizing on an error at second by Hampton. (1-0)
- George Washington added an additional run in the second by Spell behind a throwing error on second base. (2-0)
- The Pirates battled back in the top of the fourth. Jeusi stole second and advanced to third to score on a throw to place Hampton on the board. (2-1)
- Junior Kennedi Bedell (Columbus, GA) slid her way home while senior Samiyah Richardson (Chesapeake, VA) was caught stealing second to tie the game 2-2.
- The Colonials responded in the bottom half of the fifth, scoring two runs on a wild pitch to regain their lead, holding on for the win. (4-2)

The Pirates return to action for a doubleheader Saturday, April 3, on the road at Campbell at 1 PM and 3 PM.
