RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 19, 2023) … Towson is picked to win the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) women's basketball crown in 2023-24, according to a vote of the league's coaches. The Tigers tied for first-place during the regular season a year ago with a 21-12 overall mark including a 13-5 record in CAA play. The Lady Tigers received 163 total votes including nine of 13 first-place votes in the poll.
Stony Brook (18-13, 11-7 a year ago), picked to finish second, received 139 votes including two first-place votes, closely followed by Northeastern (19-12, 13-5) with 138 votes and two first-place votes. Delaware (16-14, 9-9) is picked to finish fourth with 123 votes and Charleston (6-12, 11-18) is tabbed for fifth-place with 117 votes and one first-place vote.
Hampton is picked to place 13
th ahead of UNC Wilmington. The Lady Pirates posted a 12-18 overall record with an 8-10 record in conference play. Hampton downed Delaware in the opening round of the 2023 CAA Tournament, 78-67, before falling to Towson in the second round, 87-65.
