HAMPTON, Va. (Dec. 17, 2025) … The Hampton University women's basketball team will close out its home 2025 slate on Thursday morning with an 11 a.m. start against Radford for Kids Day.

ABOUT HAMPTON (6-4)
The Pirates are back on the home floor for the last time in 2025 after a hard-fought 64-60 loss to Howard on Saturday in Washington, D.C. Hampton rallied from an 18-point deficit midway in the third period to trail by two late, but a pair of free throws iced the win for the Bison.
Aaryn Battle topped Hampton against the Bison nearly recording a double-double with 14 points and a career-best nine rebounds.
Kiki McElrath and
Kayla Lezama each added 12 points and four rebounds, while
Le'Asia Foreman had nine points, five boards and three steals.
McElrath leads the Pirates in scoring averaging 12.3 points per game, followed closely by
Kayla Lezama averaging 11.8 points per contest. In rebounding, Foreman tops the team averaging 6.9 rebounds per contest, while Battle is next at 4.1 per game.
As a team, the Pirates are averaging 64.7 points per game and allowing 56.7. On the boards, they trail 37.9-to-36.4 per game. From the field they are hitting 37.3 percent (237-of-635) and allowing opponents to hit 38.1 percent (214-of-561). From 3-point range, Hampton is 63-of-226 for 27.9 percent while the opposition is 45-of-173 for 26.0 percent. Hampton has averaged 14.9 turnovers per game and force 21.4 per contest.
Hampton leads the CAA in steals per game (10.7) and turnover margin (+6.5). They are second in scoring defense (56.7), opponent 3-point percentage (26.0) and bench points per game (27.2). Hampton is third in scoring margin (+8.0), three-pointers made per game (6.3), assist-to-turnover ratio (+0.92) and assist per game (13.7)
ABOUT RADFORD (7-6)
The Highlanders are coming to Hampton after a 100-48 romp over Division II Concord on Monday night. Radford outscored Concord 56-14 in the second half and held them to 17.9% shooting in the second half.
Joi Williams leads them in scoring (11.3 ppg), three-point percentage (.305) and steals (19). Angelina Nice is next in scoring at 9.0 ppg and is second in rebounding at 4.1 rpg.
The Highlanders are coached by Mike McGuire in his 13
th season at Radford.
As a team, Radford is averaging 63.2 points per game and allowing 63.2 points per contest.
PIRATES IN DECEMBER
In the 51-year history of Hampton University women's basketball, the Pirates are 129-136 in the month of December. On December 13, the Pirates are 2-0 having wins over Virginia Wesleyan (111-53) in 1984 and Livingstone (102-72) in 1985.
ALL-TIME VS. RADFORD
This series dates back to the 1979-80 season as Hampton holds a 16-7 advantage. The last meeting was in Radford on Nov. 7, 2024 with the Highlanders taking a 65-55 victory.
When both teams were in the Big South Conference, they played six times with each team winning three.
NEWCOMERS MAKING MARK
The scoring for the Pirates this year has seen an influx of new faces as the top five scorers are newcomers to the squad this year. The leading returning scorer is
Le'Asia Foreman at 5.5 points per game and she also leads in rebounding at 6.7 per contest.
