RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 26, 2024) … Three Hampton football players were honored with All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) post-season honors in a vote of the league's coaches as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Offensive lineman
Tyler McDuffie was voted to the all-league's second-team. Defensive lineman
Akie Nance earned third-team All-CAA honors while safety Tre Everett earned honorable mention recognition.
A redshirt junior, McDuffie anchored Hampton's young offensive line that helped the Pirates finish third in the league in rushing with 195.8 yards per game. The Pirates were fourth in scoring at 29.6 points per contest. A native of Danville, Va., the 6-8, 365-pound left tackle was a standout performer at George Washington High.
A transfer from Delaware, Nance was a fixture at nose tackle for the Pirates. Hampton allowed opponents just 149.8 yards per game on the ground and only 317.7 yards total yards. He helped lead a dramatically improved defense that allowed 85.9 fewer yards per game in 2024 than in 2023. The 6-3, 275-pound native of Newark, N.J. was playing in his final collegiate season.
A graduate student, Everett was Hampton's leading tackler in 2024 with 69 total stops. He recorded six tackles for loss including three sacks. The Pahokee, Fla. native, had two interceptions and broke up five passes while forcing one fumble and recovering two others.
