Trey Holloway Joins HU Track & Field Coaching Staff

HAMPTON, Va. (Nov. 6, 2024) … Head track & field coach Maurice Pierce announced on Tuesday that Trey Holloway has been added to the Hampton University coaching staff. Holloway was an NCAA All-American, conference champion and is currently the Hampton record-holder in the hurdles.

"I am proud to welcome Trey back to our Hampton family. He was a hard-working and dedicated member of our track & field teams from 2012-15," Pierce said. "Trey was a talented hurdler and we will count on him to pass along the knowledge he has learned over the years."

While wearing the Blue & White, Holloway was a four-time NCAA All-American and holds the school records in the 60-meter hurdles (7.70) and has the second fastest 110-meter hurdle time in school history. He earned eight All-MEAC honors in his tenure as a student-athlete.

At Grassfield High, Holloway won the indoor Virginia Group AAA state championship in the 55-meter hurdles with a 7.21. He also won the Virginia Group AAA outdoor state championship in the 110-meter hurdles with a 13.85. He helped the track & field team win its first Virginia Group AAA state championship.

The Chesapeake, Va., native, is the older brother of Grant Holloway, the Olympic gold medalist in the 110 hurdles in 2024.
