HAMPTON, Va. (April 5, 2024) … Hampton University sailing returns to action after a successful weekend at the Stony Brook Spring Regatta. The Pirates are set to compete at the Ocean County Spring Regatta. Coach Alessandro Ambrosi's squad has made the trip to Toms River N.J. three times in the past five seasons. Historically Hampton has had success at the Ocean County Regatta. During the 2018-19 season, HU placed first out of the 17-team event edging out Fordham by one point.
 
In the Pirate's most recent race, Coach Ambrosi's team secured their first win of the spring season. Back in the fall portion of the schedule, Hampton had won the Luce Regatta hosted by Christopher Newport. HU's B team had a suburb day winning all nine races they competed in. The lowest finish Hampton's A squad would have was second.
