HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 4, 2024) … Coach Alessandro Ambrosi's Pirates begin the 2024 season at the Riley Cup hosted by Old Dominion. This weekend's regatta will mark the fourth time Hampton has competed at the Riley Cup in the past five seasons. HU's best finish came at last year's race placing 10th out of the 16-team field. 

Hampton during the 2023-24 campaign by winning five regattas and six top-five finishes. Four of the seven student-athletes from last season's roster return with four new additions to the team. Out of the returners Tyler Brown has had a successful summer competing in the Hampton One Design. At the National Championship Brown placed second. The Hampton, Va. native, and sophomore Jackson Manley this past weekend placed first at the NYCC Labor Day Regatta.
