Hampton, Va. (Feb. 25, 2025) … The 2025 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships begin on Wednesday at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.
Hampton's women's team took fifth last year, while the men finished seventh and both teams sport several participants who rank among the top five in the CAA at their events.
Brianna Charles is ranked in the women's 60 meters (#2) and 200 meters (#4), while
Jordan Mozie is ranked in the women's 800 meters (#2) and 400 meters (#3).
Peninah Mutisyah has the top time in the women's 3000 meters and is also scheduled to run the 5000 meters in the event.
Saniyah Evans is ranked second in the women's long jump and fifth in the 60 hurdles, while
Anissa Bernard is fourth in the triple jump.
In the women's throw events,
Rochele Solmon is third in the shot put and
Victoria Caldwell is first in the weight throw.
On the men's side,
Ibrahim Abdalla is ranked in the 800 meters (#3). The long jump has
Marquis White (#4) and
Joseph Ernest (#5), while Ernest is also ranked in the triple jump (#3) along with
Ellis Branch (#6).
Floyd Tucker is fifth in the pole vault, while
Fanon Miller is sixth in the weight throw.
Action begins on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and on 10 a.m. on Thursday.
