Pirates Secure Fourth-Place Finish at Azalea Bowl

WILMINGTON, N.C. (April 6, 2025) … Coach Alessandro Ambrosi's side finished fourth at the Azalea Bowl hosted by UNCW.

The field consisted of 19 teams with the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Rodger Williams University and North Carolina State rounded up the top three. The Pirates finished only five points behind the Wolfpack.

Hampton's A team consisted of Stefano Palamara and Tommaso Ciaglia. Their best finish of the day came during the fourth race where the duo placed second. Palamara and Ciaglia finished the regatta with four top-five finishes. In every race the group placed in the top 10.

The Pirates B unit was Tyler Brown, Jackson Manley, and Chloe Anderson. Manley competed in the first three with Anderson racing in the rest. Hampton's B unit produced four top-five finishes. The group's best finish came during the regatta came during the fourth race where Brown and Anderson placed second.

UP NEXT

Hampton sailing returns to action at the Truxton Regatta hosted by the Navy Midshipmen. The race will begin on Saturday, April 12th and conclude on April 13th.
