ELON, N.C. (Sept. 20, 2025) … Hampton women's volleyball dropped its second match with Elon 3-0 Saturday afternoon. The Pirates were led by
Katerina Pappa's six kill day, but it was the Phoenix prevailing.
Hampton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead Saturday evening when
Morgan Warren recorded an ace followed by an attack error by Elon. The two team then exchanged blows early in the match before Elon ripped a 3-0 run late to take set one 25-20. After falling down early in the second set, Hampton began to steadily chip away at the Phoenix lead. A
Kylah McNeal kill, and two errors by Elon help Hampton bring the set within one at 17-16. Elon then closed the set out on a 6-1 run to take a commanding 2-0 lead.
In the third set, Pappa and
Racquel Frazier registered kills early to keep Hampton in the match. Elon then went on a 9-1 run to take full control and take down the Pirates in three sets.
Maria Clara Andrade led Hampton on the defensive side with 10 digs, while Warren added 18 assists on offense.
