HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 27, 2025) … Hampton University volleyball dropped Saturday afternoon's conference matchup with Stony Brook. The Seawolves used the momentum from last nights win to take down the Pirates in day two. 

In the first set, Stony Brook raced out to an early 7-1 lead courtesy of a few Hampton miscues. The Seawolves took that momentum and ran with it, exploding on a 11-0 run to take the first set from the Pirates. In the second set, two early kills from Katerina Pappa and Lillian Campbell knotted the set at three, but once again it was Stony Brook responding, this time with a 12-3 run to take full control and take set two. 

The third set was back and forth early. Racquel Frazier buried home two kills, and two errors on by the Seawolves gave the Pirates a 7-4 lead. Following a 3-0 spurt from the Seawolves, Pappa and Gabrielle Washington recorded back-to-back kills to once more give Hampton the lead. Stony Brook then went on an 11-0 run to close out the Pirates taking the second match between the two in three sets. Hampton was led by Nia Thomas' nine digs on defense, while Frazier led Hampton with four kills.
