Campbell Takes CAA Softball Opener Over Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (Mar. 6, 2026) … The visiting Campbell Camels scored in five of six innings and put up three in the top of the sixth to defeat Hampton 10-0 in six innings  in the CAA Softball opener for both teams on Friday afternoon,

Campbell scored two in the first and second innings with RBI groundouts from Allyiah Swiner and Amber DeSena putting them up 4-0. They had plated two runs in the first without a hit.

Hampton got bases loaded in the first and fourth innings, but winning pitcher Katelyn Hubley stopped any Hampton threat to keep the Pirates off the board.

Cassidy Lee, Riley Bohanon, Carmynn Bonner and Jayleen Reeves all had hits for Hampton.

Hampton and Campbell play game two of the series on Saturday at noon at the HU Softball Stadium.
