HAMPTON, Va. (Apr. 17, 2026) … Charleston rattled off nine runs over the course of the final three innings to down Hampton 15-4 in five innings Friday afternoon in the series opener between the two.
After falling 3-0 in the first inning due to back-to-back Charleston home runs, the Pirates quickly battled back. Riley Bohanon singled to start the bottom of the first inning before Cassidy Lee singled up the middle to start the rally. A batter later, Carmynn Bonner tied the game at three with her sixth long ball of the year.
The Cougars regained the lead in the top half of the second, but once more it was a Hampton response in the bottom half. Santrea Armstead blasted her first home run of the season to knot the score at four.
Charleston responded in the top half of the third with three runs, and would eventually add eight more over the course of the final two innings to take game one between the two sides 15-4.
