Box Score HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Apr. 18, 2026) … The Hampton University men's lacrosse team dropped its final road contest of the season at Hofstra Saturday afternoon 20-5. Anthony Bardonille, Jr. became Hampton's all-time leader in goals scored in a single season, burying home his 27th goal of the season breaking the previous record of 26 goals in a single season in the third quarter.
Hofstra jumped out to an early first quarter 8-0 lead, as they were able to keep the Hampton offense at bay. In the second frame, the Pirates were able to get on the board with 9:52 remaining when Jadon Meyers ripped home a goal from James Greene. The Pirates tacked on one more in the half when Maliik Wood scored with 4:13 remaining on an assist from Howard Casterlow.
Hampton scored first in the third quarter when Bardonille Jr. netted his 27th goal of the season breaking a tie for most goals scored in a season by a Pirate. The freshman from Washington, D.C. brought the Pirates within eight at 11-3.
The Pride quickly responded with four goals to take commanding 15-3 lead before Wood scored his second of the game with 2:37 remaining in the third frame. Darius Stanley scored the Pirates fifth goal of the game with 11:58 remaining in the fourth, his 13th of the season.
Wood's 25 goals moves him to third all-time in school history for goals scored in a single season.
