Lancaster Sets School Record for Saves in a Season as Hampton Falls to Stony Brook

HAMPTON, Va. (Apr. 24, 2026) … Miles Lancaster set the school record for saves in a season with 195, as Hampton fell to visiting Stony Brook in the team's season finale.

The two sides got off to a back and forth affair early in the first frame Friday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium. Stony Brook struck first less than two minutes into the game, but Maliik Wood responded with his 26th goal on the year just five minutes in. After the Seawolves netted the next two, Hampton's Owen Parham scored a goal courtesy of Howard Casterlow to bring the score within one at 3-2.

Stony Brook responded with a 10-0 run over the course of the final minutes of the first quarter into the second to take a commanding 13-2 lead. Payton Riddle halted that run when he deposited a goal with 10:11 remaining in the second. Riddle then added his second of the afternoon with 0:40 remaining in the half, as Hampton trailed 17-4 at the break.

Wood scored his 27th of the season to start the third quarter, breaking the schools previous all-time record for goals in a season of 26, and tied Anthony Bardonille, Jr. for most in a season three minutes into the second half, but it was once again the Seawolves rattling off a 4-0 run.

Bardonille, Jr. regained the school's record a minute and a half into the fourth quarter when he scored his 28th of the year. He added a second in the game with 4:41 remaining, to cap his stellar freshman season at 29 goals.

Lancaster's 195 saves breaks the previous record of 185 saves in a season previously held by Ben Kieu. Bardonille Jr. finished the season first in school history for goals in a season with 29, while Wood finished second with 27.
