The former boys and girls head varsity coach at Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia, Eric Williams is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Hampton University men’s basketball program.
Williams spent the past two seasons coaching the varsity boys at Norview where he compiled a record of 31-17, guiding the Pilots to a regional tournament and consecutive district tournament appearances.
Prior to that Williams served as the varsity girls coach at Norview as well, leading his team to the district playoffs in each of his four seasons. Under his direction the Pilots had a four-year mark of 38-26, made two regional tournament appearances and saw each senior receive a full scholarship or grant in aid to attend a four-year institution.
Williams has also coached at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. and Central High School in Capitol Heights, Maryland. In addition, he was also the associate head coach for the Boo Williams Nike Elite AAU Team from 2002-2006, as well as serving as a counselor at numerous basketball camps.
A native of Washington, D.C., Williams attended St. Augustine’s College where he played on the Falcons’ men’s basketball team from 1983-86.
