Hampton University redshirt senior running back Jeremiah Schwartz was named HU Athlete of the Week following his outstanding performance this past weekend on the gridiron.

Schwartz (Orlando, Fla.) rushed for a career-high 201 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown in Saturday’s 38-26 loss to Bethune-Cookman, averaging 8.0 yards per carry. He is the first Pirate to have a 200-yard rushing game since Kevin Beverly (204) against North Carolina A&T in 2006.

Schwartz’s total from Saturday is the 11th-highest single-game rushing total in program history.
