Hampton University senior running back Jeremiah Schwartz was named HU Athlete of the Week, following his outstanding performance on the gridiron.

Schwartz (Orlando, Fla.) recorded yet another 100-yard rushing game – his seventh of the season – in the Pirates’ season-ending 27-17 win at Morgan State on Saturday. He had 113 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries, averaging 3.9 yards per rush.

He also became the first Pirate since LaMarcus Coker in 2009 to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, ending 2012 with 1,043 yards on the ground. His 115.9 rushing yards per game lead the MEAC.
