Hampton University redshirt-fresham fullback Marcus Hampton was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance this past weekend on the gridiron.

Hampton (Williamstown, N.J.) tallied a career-high 166 rushing yards on 16 carries with a touchdown in Saturday’s 29-21 win over North Carolina Central. Hampton’s total helped the Pirates (4-6, 4-2 MEAC) rush for 256 yards as a team.

He averaged 10.4 yards per carry.
