Hampton University junior Chidi Okezie was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance on the track this past weekend.

Okezie (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named the men’s Outstanding Runner at the MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend, winning a pair of event titles in helping the Pirates finish third in the team standings.
 
He won the 200-meter dash with a season-best 20.73, before running a 46.61 to take the 400-meter dash. He reached IC4A qualification in both events.
