Hampton University senior rightside Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance on the volleyball court this past week.

Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) was named MVP of the James Madison Invitational and led the Lady Pirates to a 2-2 mark this past week. She averaged 6.57 kills per set for the week and hit .342 over the course of four matches.
 
She racked up 32 kills on Saturday in a four-set win over George Washington, breaking her own school record for most kills in a four-set match. She also had 26 kills and 12 digs against James Madison.
