Hampton University senior running back Jorrian Washington was named HU Athlete of the Week for his performance on the gridiron this past weekend.

Washington (Los Angeles, Calif.) had a career-high 176 rushing yards on 18 carries in Saturday’s MEAC opener against South Carolina State. He averaged 9.8 yards per carry against the Bulldogs, in addition to catching four passes for 30 yards.

He also had a 57-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
