Hampton University junior guard Deron Powers was named HU Athlete of the Week for his performance on the basketball court this past week.

Powers (Williamsburg, Va.) dropped a season-high 23 points in the Pirates’ 68-67 comeback win over Howard on Saturday in Burr Gymnasium. He went 8-for-13 from the floor and connected on four of his eight 3-pointers.
 
He also had six rebounds and five assists.
