Hampton University quarterback David Watford was named HU Athlete of the Week for his performance on the football field this past weekend.

Watford completed 22 of 37 passes for 335 yards and five touchdowns in the Pirates' 35-20 win over Kentucky State on Saturday. He averaged 15.2 yards per completion in his Hampton debut.

Watford's 335 yards tied for the ninth-most in a single game for a quarterback in program history.
