VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., October 15, 2010 – ESPN has announced that the Hampton at South Carolina State football game will broadcast on ESPNU as a part of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) 2010 televised football package. The game will air taped-delayed on Saturday, October 23 at 10:30 p.m.
Two-time defending MEAC champion South Carolina State will host the Hampton Pirates in their annual homecoming game at Bulldog Stadium beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Bulldogs and Pirates have met 16 times before with Hampton holding the 11-5 lead in the series matchup.
No. 9 South Carolina State currently boasts a 21-game conference win streak and is ranked ninth by the Sports Network Media and FCS Coaches Polls. The Bulldogs will face No. 23 Bethune-Cookman, who is also undefeated in conference play and riding a five-game win streak, in their next game, Saturday, October 9 at 1:30 p.m.
Hampton (4-1, 3-0 MEAC) will host local rival Norfolk State on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
