HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton University sophomore Choicetta McMillian and junior Damon Dixon were named the school's Athletes of the Week on Monday, thanks to their respective performances on the basketball court and the track.

McMillian (Fairfield, Texas) scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds on Feb. 8 at Winston-Salem State, going 4-for-8 from the floor and 3-for-5 from behind the arc. McMillian also had 14 points on Saturday against Norfolk State, tying her career high with four made 3-pointers and tallying four assists as the Lady Pirates won their seventh straight game.

Dixon (Great Falls, Va.) was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer over the weekend at the 2010 MEAC Indoor Championships, winning the heptathlon with 4,785 points. Dixon won four of the seven events – the 60-meter dash (7.14), long jump (6.69m), 60-meter hurdles (8.28) and pole vault (3.94m).

Dixon also finished second in the high jump with a height of 2.05 meters, second in the pole vault at 3.95 meters and sixth in the long jump at 7.13 meters.
