Game Notes
HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University football team will celebrate Homecoming 2013 on Saturday, taking on North Carolina A&T at Armstrong Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in the first match-up between these two teams since 2010.
The Pirates (0-5, 0-1 MEAC), in their fifth season under head coach
Donovan Rose, fell 30-6 at South Carolina State in their conference opener on Sept. 28, while the Aggies (3-1, 1-1 MEAC), under third-year head coach Rod Broadway, are coming off a 29-24 loss at South Carolina State this past Saturday.
Sophomore quarterback
Jaylian Williamson (Chesapeake, Va.) is sixth in the MEAC in passing, averaging 129.6 yards per game in the air, and his 127.6 yards of total offense per game are sixth-most in the conference.
Senior running back Antown Chisholm (Belle Glade, Fla.) is tied for eighth in the MEAC – with sophomore wide receiver
Rayshad Riddick (Portsmouth, Va.) – with 3.6 receptions per game, and Chisholm's 38.4 receiving yards per game are 10th-most in the conference.
Junior wide receiver/return man
Jorrian Washington (Los Angeles, Calif.) is second in the MEAC in kickoff returns, averaging 25.1 yards per return. He is also fourth in the MEAC in all-purpose yards, averaging 98.8 per contest.

The Pirates are 25-15-2 all-time against North Carolina A&T, though because of conference alignment and expansion, the two teams have not played since 2010 – when Hampton defeated the Aggies 35-21 at Armstrong Stadium. In fact, before the two-year break, Hampton had won the last seven meetings between the two teams.
N.C. A&T last defeated the Pirates in 2003, winning 38-28 in Greensboro, N.C. Since moving to Div. I, the Pirates are 11-4 against the Aggies.
The Pirates are 194-166-6 all-time against schools currently competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) after going 3-5 in the conference last season. Hampton is 9-9 against Bethune-Cookman; 24-14 against Delaware State; 8-13 against Florida A&M; 47-41-1 against Howard; 24-36-2 against Morgan State; 24-25-1 against Norfolk State; 25-15-2 against North Carolina A&T; 17-6 against North Carolina Central; 5-0 against Savannah State; and 11-7 against South Carolina State.
This is only the Pirates' 18th year as a member of the MEAC, as they initially became a member back in 1995. Since joining the MEAC, the Pirates have won the conference championship five times, including three straight in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Hampton is 50-33-2 all-time in Homecoming games, and the Pirates have won two straight – including a 21-13 win over Savannah State last season. Prior to 2011, Hampton lost four straight Homecoming games, but prior to that, the Pirates had won six straight Homecoming contests.
The Pirates last faced North Carolina A&T for Homecoming back in 1943, winning 18-12.
For his career as head coach, Rose is 12-9 at Armstrong Stadium. The Pirates are 0-1 at home so far this season, having fallen 30-27 to Tennessee Tech back on Sept. 14.
