NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University senior Nichelle Harris was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Harris (Rahway, N.J.) won her second straight individual crown this past Friday, when she ran a personal-best 18:07.12 on the 5K course at the Delaware State Invitational. She led five Lady Pirates in the top 10 of the individual standings.

The Lady Pirates won the team title for the second straight week.

Florida A&M's Elias Chesire was named MEAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Harris and the Lady Pirates will be back in action on Saturday, when they compete in the Christopher Newport Invitational in Yorktown, Va.
