FABER-KINNEY NAMED FCS CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Hampton University redshirt-freshman punter Christian Faber-Kinney was named Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Co-Special Teams Player of the Week, The Sports Network announced on Monday.

He shared the honor with North Dakota State punter Ben LeCompte.

Faber-Kinney (Williamsburg, Va.) averaged 41.5 yards on six punts this past Saturday at South Carolina State, including a long of 70 yards. He also rushed for 37 yards on a fake punt and completed a 32-yard pass on another fake punt attempt against the Bulldogs.

He is currently sixth in the MEAC in punting, averaging 40.7 yards per punt.

Running back Timothy Flanders from Sam Houston State and quarterback Brady Attaway from Stephen F. Austin were named FCS Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while defensive lineman Darnell Sankey of Sacramento State was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Quarterback Peter Pujals from Holy Cross was named FCS Freshman of the Week.
