EMMITTSBURG, MD – The Hampton University women's soccer team took on Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday afternoon and fell 7-0 at Waldron Stadium.
The Mountaineers outshot Hampton 25-3 as Jaylyn Chandler scored two goals, while Jenna West and Gianna Pomykacz had two assists each for the hosts. For Hampton, Ravyn Williams had the lone shot on goal in the game.
After a close first half that saw Mount St. Mary's (4-6-1) take a 2-0 lead, before a pair of goals in a ten-minute span with 15 minutes left put the hosts up 4-0. A late flurry saw three goals go up on the board in a seven-minute spell to seal the 7-0 decision.
Hampton will return to action on Saturday taking on Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va. with a 1pm kick.
