LADY PIRATES VISIT FLORIDA FOR TWO BIG MEAC GAMES

HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University Lady Pirates head to the Sunshine State for a pair of big Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference matchups starting with league-leading Bethune-Cookman on Saturday afternoon.  This starts a stretch of four road games in the final five regular-season contests for Hampton.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton is 14-10 and 8-3 in MEAC action after falling 67-62 to Howard on February 11.  Monnazjea Finney-Smith paced two in double figures with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.  K'Lynn Willis added 10 points to lead Hampton in scoring.

ABOUT BETHUNE-COOKMAN
Bethune-Cookman has won its last five games in a row and 10 of 11 in MEAC play.  They defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore 61-33 on February 13 as Ashanti Hunt had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Kailyn Williams leads the team in scoring at 10.7 ppg, while in MEAC play Hunt leads them averaging 13.1 ppg.
 
SERIES VS. BETHUNE-COOKMAN
Hampton leads the all-time series with Bethune-Cookman 25-7 and has won the last six meetings in a row.  Last year Hampton defeated Bethune-Cookman 60-45 on Jan. 9, 2016 at the HU Convocation Center.
 
NEXT UP
Hampton will head to Tallahassee, Florida to face Florida A&M University on Monday night at 6 pm.
 
NSU GAME TIME CHANGE
The final home game of the regular season for the Lady Pirates has been bumped back an hour on the start time as the Battle of the Bay with Norfolk State will now be a 6pm start on Feb. 27.
