HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University men's tennis team dropped a morning matchup with Cal-Riverside 7-0 at Neilson-Screen Tennis Stadium on Wednesday.
In doubles, the guests had clinched the doubles point after winning at line one and two. Hampton tandem of
Charles Hudson and
Davy Van Geerke pushed Nabil Abdallah and Ju Anderson at line three but fell in a tiebreaker.
UC Riverside won three three-set matches in singles to help propel them to the sweep.Â
Fernando Fernandes won the second set at line three singles to force a tie-breaker third set, but lost 10-8.
Hampton returns to action on Saturday at 2pm hosting Morgan State in a key MEAC Northern Division matchup.
