HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hampton played the hosts evenly for the first nearly ten minutes before American 's Yari Bradfield broke the scoreless start with her first of two tallies at the 9:46 mark.
- Bradfield put the hosts up 2-0 almost four minutes later as she took a feed from Emily Smith to give American a lead it would hold into halftime.
- In the second half, Sydney Jackson was fouled on a breakaway and was awarded a penalty kick which she put past the goalie to cut the margin in half at the 65:09 mark.
